On May 13, 2020, Ardi Arian, General Manager of Suntech Power Development America (STPDAM), and Greg Rosen, STPDAMs Financial Advisor, gave a webinar on Economic Benefits for Municipalities to Develop Solar on Brownfields for the Municipal Sustainable Energy Forum Group. The webinar covered the following topics:
What is a brownfield?
Potential economic benefits for municipalities
What brownfields are suitable for development?
Factors affecting the feasibility of the project
Options for project financing
They also reviewed several case studies of solar on brownfields that each of them had worked on over their careers. “Brownfields are an excellent opportunity to build wealth in communities with contaminated land that has extremely limited economic development uses,” Ardi noted in the webinar. “We are happy to share our experience with local economic development groups, engineering firms, and local environmental champions that have a site that may be of interest.”
Slides from the webinar are available upon request.
